Below you will find surrounding activities. Why not take the opportunity to visit something while you’re here? The area around Götene offers quite a lot more than you think!

Here you will find Göten’s own bowling alley, Arena Bowl, where it is possible to eat and also to book bowling for children’s parties, etc. Axvalla trotting track is a fantastic place for all types of horse enthusiasts. Here there is everything from trotting schools, trying to be a driver for a day to various events such as the Horse Championship.

Kinnekulle ring is primarily intended to enable driver’s license holders to complete their mandatory risk training at minimal cost. Operations have existed since 1979 and were built under private auspices, but since 2011 the track has been run as a limited company. Kinnekulle Ring is also hired by various companies, for example for fairs and exhibitions, as well as training of various kinds.

In Götene there are a number of different churches dating back to the 12th century. For example, there are churches such as Forshem’s church, Götene Church, Broby kabell, Husaby church, etc. For more information, visit the Götene municipality website For those interested in golf, there is Lundsbrunn’s golf club, which is located near our hostel. As the name suggests, Rubens has a large collection of old and interesting machines such as steam engines, explosion engines and various types of work machines and work vehicles. Experience a journey back in time with Skara – Lundsbrunns Railways. On SkLJ you can travel with steam train traffic on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays every summer. In addition to this, you can book your own trains (Steam train, diesel locomotive-driven train or rail bus).

Skara Sommarland is just a stone’s throw away (well, a little further, that is) from our hostel. There you can enjoy lovely summer days in water roller coasters, carousels and a nice walking area. Sommarland was founded in 1984 by Bert Karlsson, but has been part of Parks & Resors Scandinavia AB since 2001. The leisure area located in Skara is a good exercise and sports area where there are training opportunities in all its forms: sports hall, swimming hall, ice rink which are open all year round.
